Lushoto secondary school is a community school, established by the power and contributions of communities around ,in 1996 at the village of Yoghoi near Irente View; ward of Lushoto, Lushoto – Tanga.
School emblem has got key components about school. Among them, there are two students with their proper uniform (for boys and girls), Uhuru torch (Mwenge) that light-up all possible ways of ignorance to meet an excellence knowledge. Also there are book, pencil and pen that stands for important material for learning as well as computer set for more technological teaching & learning. Ball shown there, stands for all sports & games conducted at Lushoto Secondary School.
School motto is ''Quality Education For Quality Life'' that focus on delivering a quality education that is up-to-dated with development of science and technology as well as current modern life.
This school has received its registration with number 1967 and assigned a number S. 3721 as the examinations center for Form Two (FTSEE) and Form Four (CSEE).
Until 2012, the school had a total of six buildings, including administration building (offices, toilets and two classrooms), building of students' latrines, a building with two classrooms, a building with four classrooms, one building for a classroom and two-rooms building (where one is yet incomplete).
